“ I booked wrong week, they changed for me. Bed was super comfortable and I slept really well. Breakfast is far better than other similar priced hotels I have stayed in in Switzerland. Definitely recommend. ”
“ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – Historic charm & heartfelt hospitality in Horgen! Summary: Charming 15th-century Swiss hotel, warm personal touches, incredible views & spring blooms! A peaceful village escape just minutes from Zurich! Highly recommended Full Review: Just returned from a lovely stay at Romantik Seehotel Schwan in Horgen, a picturesque village just outside Zurich. I was on a business trip and arrived late, but Pascal (the owner) was incredibly welcoming and accommodating! When I arrived in my room, there was a handwritten note and Swiss chocolate from Pascal and Sabrina – such a thoughtful touch. The hotel’s history dates back to 1466 – truly special! I stayed in Room 14, a cozy space with a comfy bed, espresso machine, and charming decor. One thing that really made it unforgettable was the corner room – one side overlooked the peaceful courtyard and the village church, and the other opened to a cute cobblestone street with a small restaurant terrace. Spring flowers were blooming everywhere, adding color and life to the scene. Waking up to that view felt like a dream! Loved that church bells in morning! Breakfast was a highlight – eggs, bacon, fresh yogurt, cheeses, juices, and perfect cappuccinos. Sabrina, one of the owners, greeted me personally and shared some of their story running the hotel – her warmth and friendliness made each morning feel like home. Their outdoor courtyard is lovely – shaded by umbrellas and surrounded by flowers. A perfect spot to relax with a morning coffee. Horgen is a hidden gem, just a 5-minute walk from Lake Zurich (I shared a few photos from there!) and the train station. (Travel tip: take the train from Zurich airport or Hauptbahnhof – much cheaper than a taxi!) I also had a fantastic lakeside dinner at Ristorante Portofino in Thalwil – just a 10-minute Uber ride away. I can’t wait to come back with my wife and have more time to explore the lake, nearby villages, and mountain views. This stay was truly a nice stay! Thank you Pascal and Sabrina! ”
“ I booked last minute, and the owners/staff are super chill and super lovely. The room was modest, quaint and brilliantly cosy. The breakfast was amazing! One of the best continental brekfasts i've ever had. Thank you for a wonderful stay x ”
“ I'm here for 2 days on business, but this is definitely somewhere you would want to go as a couple. Beautiful place, great hotel and wonderful service. The surrounding area has restaurants and cafes and it is close to the lake. ”
“ Cozy and comfortable environment, great location - super close to the main train station - rooms are fair and have everything you need, breakfast is awesome and the service it's incredible. Worth the visit! ”
“ We had a wonderful stay in Room 31 (family suite) on the top floor. The windows open over a lively square. The two rooms were spacious. The sofa bed was comfortable as was the bed in the bedroom. The room had a refrigerator and coffee machine. Location is great just a short walk to the Horgen train station and the park at the lake. The proprietors are visible and helpful. Breakfast was a very pleasant presentation of a range of cheeses, breads, as well as scrambled eggs and bacon. A lot of detail has gone into making a traditional Swiss experience. Like any traditional Swiss building the floors do creak when you walk on them. The main thing to be aware of is that if you are on the higher floors you need to manage your luggage up a few flights of stairs. We wish we had been able to stay a few more days to enjoy the thoughtful hospitality. ”
“ This is a very quaint hotel in a great location in Horgen Switzerland. The hotel was built in 1466 so you will be climbing stairs to your room. The restaurant they have has very good food. ”
“ Great helpful staff, extremely friendly. Hotel and room very clean, great amenities. Fantastic tea, breakfast delicious. Would highly recommend if staying any where near Zurich easy train access and less expensive than in the city. Fantastic 14th century inn with timber beams, large bed with thick donnas. Thanks Pascal Rhyner and Sabrina Nickel ”
